Easter Event

EASTER EVENT AT CLINE’S NURSERY

SATURDAY, MARCH 23, 2024 – 10 AM

Easter is right around the corner! Join us at Cline’s Nursery on Saturday, March 23rd between 10am and 2pm for some Easter Fun!

Easter Egg Hunt:

Children 10 and younger may participate in our Easter Egg Hunt. There will be eggs hidden around the nursery, and kids will have fun trying to find them since they are filled with candy. 

10: 30 am – Children ages 3 and younger

11:00am – Children ages 4 – 6

11:30am – Children ages 7 – 9

Family & Pet Photos:

Hope Animal Hospital is proudly sponsoring Riley Cody Photography to take photos of your family and/or your fur-babies with the Easter Bunny.

Donations for photos:
$10 for 1 photo
$15 for 2 photos
$20 for 3 photos.

All photo proceeds will go towards benefiting the animals at Hope’s Chest, which provides medical and surgical care to animals referred to them by Cleveland County Animal Control.

Easter Basket:

All photos taken will be posted directly to Hope Animal Hospital’s Facebook page. The picture with the most likes by Thursday, March 28th will win a pet-friendly Easter basket from Hope Animal Hospital!

Admission is free. Credit cards are accepted. This event will take place, weather permitting. Dog treats and water bowls will be set up and ready for a fun-filled day at the nursery. Please be sure to keep your dog leashed and bring “poo bags” to clean up after your pet.

HOW TO PLANT SUMMER BULBS LECTURE

SATURDAY, MARCH 23, 2024 – 10 AM

Join us at Cline’s Nursery on Saturday, March 23rd at 10am for a one-hour lecture on how to use Summer bulbs in your landscape. Using bulbs in the garden is one of the most magical gardening experiences. Plant them in the Spring, and in the Summer you will enjoy an explosion of color popping up. We’re excited to have Joe Bothel, a Master Gardener℠ Volunteers of Cleveland County teach us how to grow stunning flowers like Dahlia, Gladiolus, Begonias, Calla Lilies, and more!

Camellias lecture

HOW TO GROW & USE CAMELLIAS LECTURE

SATURDAY, APRIL 6, 2024 – 10 AM

Join us at Cline’s Nursery on Saturday, April 6th at 10am for a one-hour lecture on how to grow and use Camellias in your landscape. We’re excited to have Joe Bothel and Judy Ford, Master Gardener℠ Volunteers of Cleveland County here to teach us all about this interesting shrub.

Renowned for its exquisite beauty, there are two main types of Camellias – Japonica and Sasanqua. Camellias can bloom in late fall, winter, or early spring depending on the cultivar. Sasanqua camellias bloom on the earlier side from late fall to early winter, while japonicas may bloom any time from mid-winter to early spring. Cline’s Nursery has an extensive collection of Camellias. Plant them this Spring, and enjoy colorful blooms in seasons to come.

Japanese Maple Festival

JAPANESE MAPLE FESTIVAL

SATURDAY, APRIL 13, 2024 – 10 AM – 2 PM

Join us at Cline’s Nursery on Saturday, April 23rd, for our Japanese Maple Festival! For decades, we have been passionate about Japanese Maples. Cline’s Nursery has over 100 Japanese Maple varieties including many which are rare or unusual. Mr. John Cline will offer two Japanese Maple Walks where customers can explore the nursery with him and learn all about Japanese Maples.

We are committed to growing high-quality trees and providing our customers with the information needed for Japanese Maple tree selection and care. We have many which are hardy and very easy to grow. We have some that do well in shade and others that do better with a lot of sun. We love Japanese Maples and are excited to share our passion with you!

SPRING BULB CONTAINER WORKSHOP

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 16, 2023 – 11 AM – 1PM

Join us at Cline’s Nursery on Saturday, December 16th, from 11 am to 1 pm for a blooming good time!  Get Creative & Learn from Martha Cline at our Spring Bulb Container Workshop!

Combine the charm of pansies with our exquisite selection of Spring bulbs. Watch as the pansies work their magic to banish the winter blues, while a medley of tulips, daffodils, hyacinth, and crocus eagerly await their moment to bloom in spring.

Choose from a palette of hues with our field-grown pansies and top-quality bulbs. Bulbs start at $1.20 each, and there will be a nominal fee for soil. CORKS &CRAFTS AT THE DRAGONFLY WINE MARKET

WEDNESDAY, MAY 10, 2023 – 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Join us at Dragonfly Wine Market on Wednesday, May 10th from 5 – 7pm for a “Corks & Crafts”. You will learn how to make a decoupage flower pot. This is a trendy way to customize pots and display your indoor or outdoor plants. Whether you decide to make one for Mother’s Day, or to treat yourself, we hope you will join us for this fun event where you can sip wine while you work on this fun craft project with friends.

Face Painting: Julie Lail of Calle Moxie Face Paint & Body Art will be available for face painting. She uses cosmetic-grade face paint and uses several sanitizing techniques. Tips will go to Hope’s Chest.

Bunnies & Chicks: We will have bunnies and chicks to for children to pet. These will be provided by Parker Feed Store located in Lawndale.

Join us at Cline’s Nursery on Friday, October 7th for a “Landscape Talk” with Landscape Architect, Fred Blackley. Drop by between 9 am and 11 am with photos and videos of your yard, and Mr. Blackley will give you expert advice on what and where to plant trees, shrubs, and flowers. This is a great day to buy everything you need for fall planting! We hope you will join us for this fun event and complimentary refreshments.

October 15th – Pumpkin Painting & Pumpkin Pie Contest

Now is the time for Japanese Maples. These beautiful trees are waiting for a place to call home. Stop on out and see what we have on the farm. Trees will be 20% off for the weekend. For those who are new to Japanese Maples or interested in learning more, John Cline would love to educate you. Join us from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM each day for a walking tour to learn about all the different varieties we have at the nursery. Enter to win a 1 gallon Japanese Maple. We will be drawing two winners, and the announcement will be made on May 1st.

For the month of October, Cline’s Nursery will be a drop-off location for a canned food drive. All donations will go towards Feeding Kids Cleveland County. Some healthy food options include canned chicken, peanut butter, jelly, mac & cheese cups (or boxed), granola bars, and oatmeal packets. Please double-check so that you only donate items that have not yet reached their expiration dates. Bring in a donation and receive 15% off your total purchase.

DOG DAYS OF SUMMER

SATURDAY, AUGUST 21ST – ALL DAY

Who let the dogs out?! We’re honoring all dog lovers here at Cline’s Nursery. Bring your four-legged loved one and explore the nursery. 10% of sales that day will be donated to Hope’s Chest, a nonprofit that focuses on providing medical and surgical care to animals referred to them by Cleveland County Animal Control in Shelby, NC. Dog treats and water bowls will be set up and ready for a fun-filled day at the nursery. Please be sure to keep your dog leashed, and bring “poo bags” to clean up after your pet. T’s Tiny Farm food truck will be at Cline’s from 10:30 AM – 2:00 PM, and has generously decided to donate 10% of sales to Hope’s Chest.

When the summer heat is too hard to beat, head on over to Cline’s for a tasty treat. Between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM, we are turning on all sprinklers throughout the nursery to keep you cool. Bring your towels and swimwear for some summer fun. With it being national watermelon day, we will also have watermelon for sale and to snack on. Adult supervision will be required for this event for all children.

It’s Independence Day! Celebrate with Cline’s Nursery. Join us on Friday, July 2nd to receive 10% off on red, white and blue plants! Fun for the whole family! Cline’s is all the buzz this year! Join us for a one-hour free course where you’ll learn how to grow the perfect pollinator garden. Master Gardener℠ volunteers will discuss pollinator-friendly plants, which attract and support bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and other important pollinators. Q&A to follow.
